Mangaluru: St Aloysius ITI upgrades Welder workshop to modernized version

Mangaluru, Feb 15: Technology is changing at a faster pace and it is necessary to upgrade the training facilities to match with industrial advancements. Committed to give the best to the students, St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute keeps upgrading its training facilities. Latest addition to this is the Welder workshop.

The workshop has been renovated and modern ventilated welding booths are installed in order to provide safe and healthy working environment to the trainees. Silvana Rizzi, a benefactor from Italy inaugurated the workshop by cutting the ribbon. Fr Melvin Lobo SJ – director of the institution blessed the workshop. Before the commencement of the programme, a silence of one minute was observed to pray for the souls of CRPF personnel who died in the brutal attack by the terrorists the day before.



During the formal programme, Silvana Rizzi- chief guest said, “I have been associated with this institution from a long time. I am impressed by the commitment the institution shows in empowering the rural and under-privileged youth by providing state of art technical education. I believe in this institution and its dedication. Every time I visit this institution, I see something better. This institution is growing year by year. I wish all the students a very bright future.”

In the beginning, Dr Leo Dsouza SJ- former director of the institution introduced the chief guest to the students and said, “ Silvana Rizzi is a noble hearted person who is actively involved in helping the under-privileged. She is the great grand niece of Br Antonio Moscheni who had painted the world famous paintings in St Aloysius Chapel. She is an inspiration for all of us. Let us draw inspiration from her and learn to give back to society in whatever way we can.”

Vincent Mendonsa- principal delivered the welcome address.

Silvana Rizzi was felicitated by the director on behalf of the institution.

Following the felicitation, Fr Melvin Lobo SJ- director thanked the chief guest and the former director for their selfless contribution to the growth of the institution.

The students presented a cultural programme.

Robin Vas- junior training officer compered the programme.
