Kaup: Hit by car pedestrian loses life at Pangala

Kaup, Feb 11: A woman died on the spot after a car hit her near Pangala Lord Janardana temple on national highway 66 on the night of Sunday February 10.

The victim has been identified as Maimoona (65), wife of Abdul Sattar, residing near the telephone exchange, Udupi.

Maimoona used to operate a stall selling fruits and vegetables near Marigudi, Kaup Kalya. She had visited Pangala to hire a spot to sell fruits during the Alade festival proposed to be held there shortly. During this visit, she lost her life.

In this accident, the entire portion of the lady's body above her waist was crushed completely. Social worker from Kaup, Soori Shetty and ambulance driver, Nagaraj, tried to save the woman by taking her to hospital but she died on the way, it is gathered.
