Doha: Bunts Qatar hold maiden free medical health check-up camp

Doha, Feb 4: Bunts Qatar organised its first ever, free medical health check-up for families of Karnataka based communities in Qatar on February 1 in association with Focus Medical Centre.

Serving the community has been one of the core motives of Bunts Qatar. Bunts Qatar had been involved in many philanthropic activities not only in Qatar but back in India too, helping the needy from different communities. Taking ahead their social responsibility and commitment towards society, free medical health checkup campaign was organised to bring attention to one’s “health” in today hectic lifestyle .The noble cause received an overwhelming response with more than 300 people attended the event and took advantage of the camp.

Focus Medical Centre extendedits full cooperation in organising this event lead by E Hammed, CEO, Dr Eshtiag Elamin Saeed and Dr Vijaylaxmi Tonse. Blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI and cholesterol tests were conducted free of cost. Based on the assessment free consultation with doctors belonging to Internal Medicine, General Medicine, ENT, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dentistry were conducted.



Earlier, Manikantan A P, president of Indian Cultural Centre and P N Babu Rajan, president Indian Community Benevolent Forum inaugurated the camp by cutting a ribbon along with Bunts Qatar President Deepak Shetty and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, Manikanthan lauded the efforts of Bunts Qatar in organizing such camps which will be beneficial to the community. Babu Rajan congratulated Bunts Qatar and spoke briefly about ICBF medical camps, which they are organising for blue collared workers in Qatar. He also requested Bunts Qatar to partner with their Medical camps in near future. Dr Vijayalakshmi Thonse explained about Focus Medical Centre, its facilities and core values and its willingness to organize more such camps to help the Indian community in Qatar. Dr Padmashri Shetty, from Focus Medical Centre who is also Bunts Qatar cultural secretary, briefly introduced doctors to the community. Bunts Qatar Special Needs and Membership secretary Nithyananda Shetty did the compering and explained Bunts Qatar social responsibility objectives. General secretary Ashwin Shetty rendered the vote of thanks.

ICC, head of Inhouse Activities Ramachandra Shetty, ICBF MC Avinash Gaikwad, Navneeth Shetty, chairman of Advisory Bunts Qatar, Ramanna Hegde, VP, Bunts Qatar,Venkat Rao, president Karnataka Sangha, Ibraiz Khan, president KMCA, Kiran Anand, VP, Tulukoota, Sunil D’silva, president MCC, Abdul Majeed, president SKMWA, Raghunath Anchan, president Qatar Billavas, Mubarak Kodi, VP KTC, and Clement Saldanha from MCA, V S Mannangi and Arun Kumar, former presidents of KSQ, Divakar Poojary, former president of Tulukoota, Manohar Shetty, Swaroop Shetty, Nithin Shetty, Supriya Shetty, Bunts Qatar management committee members, Bunts members and other community members were present.
