PM Modi slams dynastic politics, hails BJP’s democratic values

Mumbai, Jan 24 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday said democracy runs in the BJP’s veins while in many other cases, family comprises the party.

His comments came hours after Gandhi fa-mily scion Priyanka Gandhi Vadra formally entered politics. Inter-acting with BJP booth workers from Baram-ati, Gadchiroli, Hin-goli, Nanded and Nand-urbar in Maharasht-ra, Modi said unlike “many cases” where family is the party, for the BJP the party is family.

In an apparent reference to Priyanka Gand-hi, who has been appo-inted a Congress general secretary and made in-charge of Uttar Pra-desh East, Modi said in the BJP, decisions are not taken on the wishes of a person or family.

“In our party, decisions are taken on the basis of what party workers want,” he said.

Modi also said the BJP is driven by democratic principles. “Democracy runs in the veins of BJP which is why people of the country feel closer to the party.”

The Vadras had purchased a plot of 3 and a half bigha of agricultural land in Charabra hills, 13 km uphill from Shimla. Located at the height of 8,000 feet, the plot was purchased for around Rs 47 lakh from US-based Satish Kumar Sood and Satinder Sood in 2007. The then Himachal Pradesh government had relaxed norms under Sec 118 of Land Reforms and Tenancy Act because under land laws of the states only permanent residents can buy land in the state. Others who want to buy land have to obtain relaxation under the said law. The plot is just 500 meters away from The Retreat, the summer resort of the president of India. Due to this proximity, clearance from President’s secretariat had to be obtained for the house.
One Devinder Jit, who owns a huge plot of land next to Priyanka Vadra’s property, wanted to build a hotel on his land. But the government rejected his application citing proximity to high-security Retreat. Even High Court also had rejected his appeal in this matter.

The screw (political) needs to be tightened.
A tea boy mentality cannot be stabilized even if he occupies a top most position.
Culture has inherited values and the pride is adopted quality, hardly settles down.

Every Indian is having a right to contest elections along with their families so the Question of Dynasty doesn't arise!!! Those who bark let them make their kids ... BJP leader's should use their wisdom and knowledge to know how the Asian Countries were ruled by Dynasty's!!! Gandhi family is not in PM post for nearly 30 years still BJP talks about Dynasty??? Yes, there are many people whos family was in politics.

But have you seen in BJP, anybody getting the post of the General secretary from nothing.?Modi was working for 30 years in grassroots in variuos positions, before he was made a CM.

    Its possible in Congress.

Do you think experience wise, Our MLA Khader is less experienced than Priyanka Vadra?
Then why he is not yet a General secretary of Congress yet.
There are so many examples in Congress. Party workers who have worked for years , but are still not in a significant post.

But here comes a lady with no prior experience is suddenly becoming a general secretary.
Her qualification: She belongs to the family.

The congress supporters and the congress cadres are thrilled with the entry of Priyanka Gandhi into politics. The chaddies are experiencing severe stomach upsets and bouts of depression therefore they are crying dynasty dynasty.

Dear Chaddies please remember that we are a democratic country where every citizen is allowed to participate in politics.

You cannot prevent entry of children in politics simply because their parents and grand parents happened to be in politics, just like you cannot prevent a businessman's, doctor's, chartered accountant's or engineer's children to continue in the same professions as their parents.

Nobody can be foisted to rule us. We have to elect them first. Therefore if you don't like Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi don't vote for them. Let the country decide. Why are you wasting time in useless talk and spoiling your own health? The Congress party and its supporters do not have a problem, so why should you?

Anata, what difference does it make.. Whereas for the B.J.P all the Gujjus who are favoured become party....Jay Shah, Amith Shah, Adani ,,Ambani , Mehul Choksi , Nirav Modi, lalith Modi , Nothing has been achieved in the last four and a half years , only achievement was favouring the Gujjus ,,,,Imagine accompanying Feku to Devos,, Gifting the Rafael deal to Anil Ambani who had declared bankruptcy and no experience and that too to a company floated just couple of weeks ago...... If you noticed or care to notice Feku has not uttered a single word only his ministers are falling over to defend the Rafael deal... Alas, what a tragedy.. Feku has only concentrated on the dynasty rule and left the Bhaktas high and dry but has not lost sight of the Adanis, Ambanis, MOdis and the choksis.....

Signs of desperation visible in the BJP and particularly with Modi and Amit Shah since the opposition conclave in Bengal with Mamata a potential PM candidate becoming a rallying point for all nationalists. The inclusion and arrival of Priyanka has rattled the BJP . This will herald the bsggining of the end of Jhumla Politics and Gujarat Model of Development.

Indications of maturity and real change for better will happen when we begin to cleanse our house.
Not when we look around to find fault in others and laugh at their ills, coolly over looking our own inequities.
