Sullia: Employee of Subrahmanya temple dies in accident near Alur

Sullia, Jan 12: In a tragic accident which happened in the early hours of Friday January 11 near Alur, Hassan district, Harish Konadka (30), an employee of Kukke Lord Subrahmanyeshwara temple, lost his life. He was the son of Devaragadde Konadka Purushotham Gowda.

Harish, who is employed in the said temple, used to supply Madras cucumbers during his spare time. For supplying this vegetable to certain shops in Subrahmanya, he had visited Hassan along with a friend named Yashodhara on Thursday in his Mahindra Jeeto van. On his return to Subrahmanya on Friday after procuring Madras cucumbers there, his vehicle dashed a truck that had been parked by the roadside at Palya in Alur.

Yashodhara was in the driver's seat at the time. The collision was so hard that half of his vehicle projected into the lower portion of the parked truck. Harish, who was sitting by the side of the driver, suffered grave injuries and died on the spot. His body was shredded into pieces in the accident. The driver escaped with minor injuries. The van was completely mangled in the accident.

A case about the accident was registered in Alur police station.
