Shivamogga: Konkani Catholic Sabha (R) celebrates 'NathalSambram'

Shivamogga, Dec 19: Konkani Catholic Sabha, Shivamogga (R) celebrated 'NathalSambram' in a grand and pomp manner on Saturday, December 15,2018. The theme of the day was 'Ani Dev Monis Zalo ani Amche modem Jiyelo'. The programme was held in St Thomas Bhavan, Mission compound, Sharavathinagar in the city.

The celebration began with an offering of Holy Mass in Konkani language. The main celebrant was Fr William Pereira, parish
priest of St Mary church, Arsikere, Hassan. In his homily he said, "Christmas is Joy. The joy should be shared with
others, real needy and the poor. We should find Christ in every person, in good deeds and actions. When we forgive, God
comes closer to us. Therefore Christmas is sharing and finding joy."



After the holy Mass there was cake cutting. The president Rose Fernandez along with executive members and office bearers cut the cake and honorary president Richard Quadras raised the toast. The cake and wine was served to all. The choir group sang melodious Christmas Carols. In the entertainment programme, there were children dances, skit, dance for elderly persons, funny games, and lucky dip draw. Prizes were distributed to the winners. Santa claus gave more joy to the programme. Kid joined with him and danced. At the end sumptuous food was served to all.

The programme was anchored by Salvadore Pereira and Irene Fernandes. The entire programme went on for three and a half hours.
