Woman beaten to death on train for objecting to smoking

Lucknow, Nov 10 (IANS): A woman was beaten to death on board a train near the Bareilly station when she asked a group of youngsters not to smoke in the compartment, police said on Saturday.

The incident happened on board the Jalianwala Bagh Express which was going from Amritsar to Tata Nagar.

Police said the woman and her son and daughter-in-law were unable to tolerate the cigarette smoke, and that when they objected, they were thrashed.

The woman sustained serious injuries in the attack. Two assailants fled by jumping off the train when it approached the Shahjahanpur railway station. One of them was overpowered by passengers and handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The profusely bleeding woman was rushed to the district hospital in a critical condition. She was declared dead on arrival by doctors.

She has been identified as Chinta Devi (50), a resident of Bihar. She was returning home for Chatth puja from Punjab where she lived with her son who worked there.

One of the assailants has been identified as Sonu, a resident of Azamgarh.

The police said efforts were on to arrest the other youth.

Every day what are we hearing? Rape, molestation and killings? Its high time that we open our eyes and see what we all have gone through last 4 1/2 years. More and more youth are involved in such activities, probably they do not want to work or jobs are not available. Its a democratic country and we can not open out mouth even to request something not good. We are not progressing at all. Every humanbeing is a creature of God and no one has the right to touch or kill the person. Let us pray to God for His intervention helping each of the people of this country to think wisely and vote rightly in the coming election. God bless you all.
May this lady rest in peace amen.

In India death by unnatural means is higher than other countries. Deaths by accidents, pollution in delhi, blore etc., lynching, formalin in fish and chemicals in faster ripening of fruits and veggies, stabbings, religious violence and murders and so many unnecessary ways to get cancer, asthma,, strokes etc.

Yogi's popularity excelerating rapidly. What kind of law and order one can expect from a temple priest who has several criminal records in his name prior to become CM.
He once endorsed in public speech asks to rape muslim women by taking them out of graves and provoke hindus by saying “If one Hindu is killed, we won’t go to the police, we’ll kill 10 Muslims.”

Shocking and horrible.very sad to hear this.I thought there are cctvs intrain .couldnt someone pull chain in such situation.?Everyone only looked or took fotos? How bad .seems noone is following the rules.when the woman was so badly thrashed till she dies, itmust have been a long time.So sorry .The police must catchhold of other culprits with help of the catched one.otherwise he has to ge tmore punishment.First smoke and then also thrash the woman to death.what are these rowdys?no controller in trains?May her soul find peace.and heartfelt sympathy to the family.Family had to see thrashing and suffering infront of their eyesand her death, terrible, must have had a shock.

In India we do not do this. We are protectors of our culture, we even protect cows how our boys can thrash a lady ? Either it s a fake story or this must have done by Bangladeshi migrants.
