Survey: India ranks 158th among 195 countries in health care investment

New Delhi, Sep 25 (NIE): India ranks 158th in the world for its investments in education and healthcare, a survey of 195 countries has revealed. It ranks below countries like Sudan, Azerbaijan, China and Bosnia Herzegovina. According to the survey, Finland tops the list of 195 countries in the two key sectors.

A study by Seattle-based Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation published in The Lancet says that India’s ranking of 158th in 2016 represents an improvement from its 1990 ranking of 162nd. It comes from having seven years of expected human capital, measured as the number of years a person can be expected to work in the years of peak productivity, taking into account life expectancy, functional health, years of schooling and learning, the survey said.

“Our findings show the association between investments in education and health and improved human capital and GDP, which policymakers ignore… As the world economy grows dependent on digital technology, from agriculture to manufacturing to the service industry, human capital becomes important in stimulating local and national economies,” said Dr Christopher Murray, director of IHME.

It is very unfortunate to read that India is ranking 158th out of total 195 countries as far as our Health facilities are concerned. India has produced some of the best Doctors and Nurses highly specialized in the Medial profession, yet we are ranked 158th in the world of 195 nations.

We have abundance of Doctors and Nurses highly trained and specialized in every kind of medical speciality, We have some of the best hospitals in almost every City of India. We have some of the best doctors who have experimented some of the rarest surgeries and treatments. We have despatched tens of thousands of Doctors and Nurses to almost all the countries of the world where they have earned their name and fame for so many medical researches and experiments.

Something has to be done to correct the situation. The Government has to intervene in our Health related Industry and change the outlook of our Medical facilities. There are ways and means to improve the Medical sector of India. The health sector needs all the attention and help.

If incompetent 'chowkidaar' does not want to take responsibility for the mess that he has created, then he should step down and allow capable people to run the country. He has turned out to be a big disappointment and his policies have been disastrous.

India's population is much healthier than rest of the population on entire earth.
Main reasons for death in India is road accidents and suicides.

If drivers starts driving responsibly and start respecting their vehicle rather than accelerating it, then road accidents can be reduced. Also government should start compulsory one full day class room theory course and compulsory written examination before issuing any new licenses..
