Small men in big offices lack vision, says Imran after India calls off talks

Mumbai, Sep 22(DC): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday lashed out and expressed his disappointment by the 'arrogant and negative response' by India to a meeting that was scheduled to be held later this month in New York.

On Friday, India called off talks between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi citing terror activity in Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to Twitter, PM Imran Khan said, "Disappointed at the arrogant & negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue. However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture."

The meeting was scheduled to take place in New York later this month on the sidelines of UN General Assembly session.

The meeting would have been a first such high-level engagement since the suspension of dialogue between the two nations after the Pathankot air base terror attack in 2016.

    If anyone genuinely wants to put an end to this India-Pakistan war, there seems to be no takers from both sides...since this will ruin their income and power source from the war....i strongly believe whatever the dispute , if there is a sincere will to solve it, it can be solved in no time....each side will be ready to sacrifice whatever it takes...but if both sides are insincere and selfish there will be no end....

    Suraj, the peace lovers cannot co-exist. Hypothetically speaking , even if India gives away Kashmir. The next month they would put up the demand stating that they would like to have West Bengal as well . If India does not agree , then history would repeat , daily terror attacks in WBengal from accross the border.

    The Govt of India has done the right thing. He was in the middle east recently begging with the rulers for some dirhams. Imrans intention was just to 'show' to US and other European countries that he is for peace. If India had accepted, he would have then gone with a begging bowl as a messaiah of peace. Unfortunately teh plan back fired. Perhaps it would have worked in the previous regime of the barmaids Khangress. As their intention was to just appease their bretheren on this side of the border for vote bank.
