No use from politicians visit. They know causes of flood very clearly but cannot do anything against money power.simply crocodile tear. If people understand reality they can do something themselves safe.

Illegal quarrying of granite, mining and sand mafia lead by the same politicians who command power, combined with the naked destruction of Western Ghats have led to climate change, freak weather phenomenon, incessant rain, landslides and unheard of floods. Forget Yettinahole project for a second, think of arrecanut/Tea & Coffee estates/virgin forrsts that are already star resorts or pvt layouts or gated land, while huge tracts of forests become pvt property overnight, complete with villas with designer farms,: well, no need to guess as to who are the owners.

While natural calamities including those due to global climate change or in case of our districts man-made disasters, are indeed tragic, cruel and inhuman, it is regretful to watch the national TV channels focus exclusively on Kerala and a few on Kodagu too. Incidentally, they also mention Kodagu as a district of Kerala. Well, there is an occasional mention of a pregnant lady rescued in Sullia.

What no one is focusing or mentioning, is the dire-situation in Sullia and parts of DK districts too.
Unlike Kerala that has successfully lobbied for multiple airports, extensive railways and harbour's, our Sullia, Malnad and Dakshina Kannada districts have been tangibly ignored for decades, the most recent pumpwell flyover being a classic case.

The massive landslides and deluge of water in Sullia district has not only disappeared ‘entire villages’ and innocent families, the non-stop rainfall has literally turned the Jalsuru-Sampaje highway into a big river, with giant boulders, concrete blocks and all! Poor, sick, old as well as young & helpless people are desperately awaiting relief at various betta's and schools in Sampaje, Chembu & Aranthodu in Sullia district.

With due respect, our astrologer-driven CM is myopic and focussing on Madikeri alone, just after a huge write-off of irresponsibly staggering loans at the cost-of-the-common man (like us). More recently he granted Rs. 500 crores (yes, it’s our money & we h

It is high time our greedy politicians understand the dangers of Yettinahole , sand mining and land mining. People have to really target these rogue politicians and teach them a lesson.

That is called flash flood.. Not at all ordinary rain or ordinary flood.
Once they re-establish road to Koadagu then things should go back to normal..

In Kerala most of the flooding was due to release of dam water (man-made)...
They should not have released water for already raining state and getting enough water from rain. Very foolish kerala goberment. Playing with people lives.

In cities you have traffic police and traffic management...
The same way dam water should be managed somehow without causing any problems to general public in the downstream..

One solution is when water level reaches 80% start releasing small quantities..

Even toll collecting company doesn't obey his orders.
Last time in a toll gate, spotly he warned toll gate authority that not to collect toll for local vehicles. But still tolls were collected.
No values for our MPs words or orders . Even at NITK toll gate , when we pay toll, we have to enter into very huge pathholes
