Puttur: Alumni meet held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Aug 16: The 1992 BSc (Bzc) alumni conducted their reunion meet at PG conference hall at St Philomena College on August 12.

The programme was inaugurated by the campus director of St Philomena Institutions Fr Anthony Prakash Montheiro. In his address, he appreciated the enthusiasm and the efforts of the alumni in organising the reunion event after a long period of 26 years.

He thanked the batch for inviting the faculty and felicitating them. He briefed about the developmental activities of the institution and thanked the alumni for their wholehearted contributions towards their alma mater.



Rakesh Shetty, former president, student union, St Philomena College, welcomed the gathering and remembered the contributions of the college towards the students overall development in personal and professional life. Students shared their experiences during college days and cherished those moments.

The guidance given by the senior faculty such as Concepta Lobo, Dr Ravichandran, late Prof Moodithaya, late Prof James, Dr Annaji Rao, and Dr Palanna were remembered. Among the guest faculty Dr A P Radhakrishna, Dr K Krishna Kumar, Dr Prasanna Rai and Prof Shakunthala in their speech appreciated the professional distinctions the alumni have achieved. On the occasion, two alumni of the batch Dr Rekha P D and Dr Narayana Kilarkaje were felicitated for their achievements.

Vincy Lobo (Former president, AICUF) and Kishan (secretary, Rotary Club, Puttur) coordinated the event and Purnima Moorthy compered the programme.
