Mangaluru, Aug 16: Gopalakrishna Pre-primary School, residential school and pre-university college celebrated 72nd Independence Day of the country at the school grounds. Captain Mulki Ganesh Rao hoisted the flag.
The hall programme held by Shakthi School was chaired by Gopalakrishna temple managing trustee K C Naik. Shakthi residential school convener Sanjith Naik and management committee member Saguna C Naik lauded the achievement of Captain Mulki Ganesh Rao in the army and felicitated him.
Captain Mulki Ganesh Rao who responded to the honour recalled the memories of his participation in war between India and Pakistan during 1965.
“We had to face several wars after formation of independent India. The administration of the country in the past may be a reason for them. Students now should be patriotic. We should love our country,” he said.
Students who won in competitions held on that day were presented certificates. Residential school principal Madhulika and Shakthi Pre-university College principal Prabhaker G S delivered the Independence Day message.
Students from Shakthi Residential School, Gopalakrishna Pre-primary School and Shakthi Pre-university College presented a cultural programme. Shakthi School convener Sanjith Naik, management committee member Saguna C Naik, trustee Muralidhar Naik, chief advisor of the institute, Ramesh K, development officer Nasim Banu and Gopalakrishna pre-primary school convener Neema Saxena were present.
Institute administrator Baikadi Janardhan Achar welcomed everyone. Priyanka compered the programme. Student Rahil thanked the gathering.
