Mangaluru Aug 13: The South Canara District Cooperative Bank (SCDCC) has earned a record profit of Rs 28.63 crore during 2017-18, which is highest ever, informed Rajendra Kumar, president of SCDCC bank.
Addressing media here on August 11, Rajendar Kumar said, "The bank had a total business of Rs 6,784 crore and the deposit was Rs 3,561 crore at 105 branches of SCDCC bank. Nearly Rs 2,778.3 crore was the total advances in which Rs 1,199.48 crore was for agriculture sector.
“The loan waiver of farmers of the twin districts was around Rs 724 crore. Nearly 84,000 Rupay cards have been distributed to the farmers and debit cards have been distributed to 43,621 customers.
“SCDCC Bank is all set to introduce tab banking so that it will be easy for the customers to do banking transactions sitting at their home. Further, there is a proposal of introducing mobile banking to the customers,” he said.
Directors Vinay Kumar Surinje, B Raghuram Shetty, K S Devraj, Vadiraj Shetty, T G Rajaram Bhat, Bhaskar S Kotian and others were present.
