Rakbar wasn't lynched but beaten up by cops, claims BJP MLA

New Delhi, Jul 23 (Agencies): Hours after a 28-year-old Rakbar Khan was allegedly lynched to death in Rajasthan’s Alwar on the suspicion of smuggling cows, BJP MLA Gyandev Ahuja claimed that he was not lynched but was rather beaten up by the cops after he was handed over to them. Speaking to India Today, the BJP MLA also said that the cops had beaten him up to “show off the public”.

“Rakbar Khan wasn’t lynched. He was beaten up by the cops to show off. I spoke to the villagers and they told me that he was conscious when they handed him over to the police. The police then beat him up,” he said. Earlier in the day, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal poked a controversy after he said such incidents are a reaction to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s growing popularity.

“The more popular Modi ji becomes, the more such incidents will happen. In Bihar election, it was ‘Award Wapsi’. In UP election, it was mob lynching. In 2019 elections, it’ll be something else. Modi ji gave policies and the impact of these are being seen. Incidents (lynching) like these are reactions,” said Meghwal.
The Union minister said that while he condemns such mob lynching, this is not the first such incident, further adding that the 1984 Sikh-related violence was the biggest mob lynching of the nation’s history.

A 28-year-old man was on Friday lynched to death by suspected cow vigilantes in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, police said on Saturday. Two persons have so far been arrested in the Alwar lynching. Khan, a resident of Mewat in Rajasthan, was transporting the animals to his village along with another man when they were stopped by a group of villagers near Lalawandi village in Alwar.

They were brutally thrashed, the office of Additional Director General Jaipur Range, Ramgarh, received this information at 12.40 a.m. When the police team reached the spot they found an injured Khan lying in the mud. Two persons were standing there with two cows, ADGP Hemant Priyadarshi told the media.

Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje assured an investigation in the case. “The incident of alleged lynching of a person transporting bovines in Alwar district is condemnable. Strictest possible action shall be taken against the perpetrators,” Raje tweeted.

There was a hoarding in UP saying " we do not Modi to prevent rapes, lynching, to bring down petrol and onion price etc. We won't him to save Hinduism. When this kind of mentality is prevailing among people, no one can help except God

Indian voter can be easily brainwashed using the religion/Hindutva card.
Majority of the voters are fanatic, illiterate and of mob mentality.
In addition we don't have any shortage for communal and fanatic politicians.
They don't care about infrastructure, education, technology, jobs or development.
In view of the above India will never rise above caste politics for ever and ever.

These incidents keep repeating due to the inaction of honorable chief minister vasundara raje in earlier lynching cases. There is mobocracy in Rajastan in place of democracy. The vigilantes and the rogue police know that they have complete support and patronage from the ruling government.

I do not understand the logic for your FEAR. All the power lies with majority and you are scared from Muslims.
In india only 4% Muslim MPs and rest 96% people from your side, and you are scared.
Only 2% Muslim cabinet ministers, and you are scared .
Only 6% Muslims in Police force and rest all from your community, and you are scared.
Only 6.5% Muslim judges in SC and you are scared they will harm you.
Only 4.4% Muslims in healthcare and you are thinking they will kill you.
Only 4.5% Muslims in Indian Railways, and 99% of these are in lower grades, and you are thinking they will not do justice to you.
Only 6.5% Muslims in transport section , and you think they will harm 93.5% people.
Only 8.5% Muslims occupying government job, hence all power lies with you, and you think these 8.5% Muslims will take over your jobs.
if at all any danger to you, that is from WITHIN due to you hatred. If you hate someone, the hatred is harming you more!

It is reported that the police took the victim to the Hospital ( which is at 1 km from Police station) after almost 4 hours since the arrived at the crime scene. And he was declared brought dead at Hospital.

And how a person can have a sense of inclusion if they are treated like second class citizens.

What has made our people so cruel and feelingless, that Killing and raping don't terrify their hearts.

Why are you not blaming all of your people today, which you always do when you find any single crime committed by some other community. Why are you so soft today. Be a man, and condemn the wrongdoers irrespective of their community.

    @Surendra,

I don't know Tipu Sultan personally.

I don't prefer to comment on something in which I have no knowledge; especially on the history of someone where there are so many versions.

Irrespective of whether I commented or not; if Tipu Sultan has killed any innocent, he will get the punishment in the hereafter, even if he is not punished in this world.
