Mangalore: 'Kavyadas—Ek Khaas Mulakhat' Organized by Kavita Trust

Mangalore, Oct 6: A discussion on well-known Konkani poet and writer Kavyadas (Liyab), ‘Kavyadas—Ek Khaas Mulakhat,’ was organized by the Kavita Trust, at Carmel Hill auditorium on Sunday October 5.

Well-known Konkani writer Andrew L D’Cunha spoke about the life of Kavyadas. He said that one could see the influence of prominent Konkani poet Louis Mascarenhas in the poems of Kavyadas. Meanwhile, writer Jerry Rasquinha of Angelore, spoke about the works of Kavyadas.


 

Later, a book ‘Zanntyamchya Pavlamni,’, written by Kavyadas was released. Fr Mark Valder, former editor, ‘Raknno’ Konkani weekly, and parish priest, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour church, Gantalkatte, presided over the function.

Melvyn Rodrigues, president, Kavita Trust welcomed the gathering. Mary D'Souza, wife of Kavyadas was present on the dais. Victor Mathias Karkala compered the programme. William Pais proposed vote of thanks.
