Mangaluru: With 10 directors & 10 locations, Coastalwood set to produce movie in just 17 hours!

Mangaluru, Jun 23: Nageshwara Cine Combines, a noted film production banner from Coastal Karnataka, is all set to attempt a Guinness world record for the Tulu film industry by producing a movie in just 17 hours with 10 directors and 10 actors.

Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, June 23, Nageshwara Cine Combines’ Kadandale Suresh Bhandary said, "Earlier, we had produced 'Ambar Caterers' under our banner. Now, we are ready to produce yet another movie with a unique concept. Our new film will be shot with 10 directors and 10 actors at 10 locations in just 17 hours which will be a record in Coastalwood.

"Devadas Kapikad, Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Prakash Pandeshwar, Mayur Shetty, Ranjith Suvarna, Raj Kamal, Raghu Shetty, and Rithesh Bangera are among the directors. Roopesh Shetty, Arjun Kapikad, Pruthvi Amber, Saurabh Bhandary, and Asthik Shetty are among the lead actors in the movie. The story, screenplay, and dialogue will be written Harish Kottadi. Tamil actor Rajasimha will play a negative role in the movie.

"Other directors, actors, and the title of the film will be finalised in the coming days. Depending on the dates of these actors and directors, shooting is expected to start in August end or in September this year," he said.

Producer Rajesh Brahmavar said, "Tulu films are always known for something new. This new film will be a unique concept which has never been done before in Coastalwood. It feels really great to be associated with the unique concept."

Actor Saurabh Bhandary, Asthik Shetty, Arjun Kapikad, actress Pooja Shetty, director Prakash Pandeshwar, Raghu Shetty, Ranjith Suvarna, Mayur Shetty, Ismail Moodushedde, producer Pammi Kodialbail and others were present.

    If the purpose is to set the Guinness world record, it is not a good idea as they may create the record but they may not create a film that is watchable or worth to watch it. Though some of our Mangaloreans started to produce Tulu and Konkani films decades ago, there were not many films made since then as the viewers market was very small and I think some of our producers might have burnt their fingers. It is good to note that in the recent past many Tulu & Konkani films were made and many are in the pipeline, so the film industry is slowly but steadily taking off. However, the film producers should see to it that quality of a film is more important than creating any record. My piece of advice to the film makers, don't go for the record at the cost of the viewers. You can expect us to watch our Tulu and Konkani films but don’t expect us to watch a film that is made to waste our nearly three hours in theatre. Instead of breaking a world record, produce a film that would break a box office record, thus both the film makers and the viewers are happy with the film. The film makers have to ask themselves if they want a world record or they want their film to be watched by one and all.
