Sullia: Cricketer K L Rahul visits Subramanya Temple, offers Mahapuja

Sullia, Jun 23: Opening batsman of Team India, K L Rahul, accompanied by his family, arrived at Kukke Subramanya Temple in the taluk on Thursday June 21 morning. After performing the 'Sankalpa' ritual at the temple, he offered 'Mahapuja' service to the presiding deity. 

Priest of the temple, Ramakrishna Noorittaya, handed over Prasadam duly invoking blessings of the Lord. Thereafter, Rahul paid obeisance at Hosaligamma shrine.  

Rahul's father, K N Lokesh, and mother, Rajeshwari were with Rahul during this visit. When Rahul went to the administrative office of the temple, president of temple managing committee, Nityananda Mundody, presented to him memento along with Prasadam. Protocol officer of the temple, K M Gopinathan Nambeesh, Pramod Kumar of protocol department, S Harish, taluk panchayat member, Ashok Nekraje, as well as locals, Shivakumar Kamath and Lokesh N S were present on the occasion. 

Speaking on the occasion, Rahul said that he has been an ardent devotee of Lord Subramanya and that he has been visiting this temple since the last many years. He felt that because of the Lord's benevolence, he has been able to do well in life. "Before the commencement of IPL three months back, I had visited the temple. I would be leaving for the series against England tomorrow.  Before proceeding on this tour, I wanted to visit the temple along with parents, seek blessings of the Lord and pray for our well-being, which I have fulfilled," he stated.
