Mangaluru, Jun 19: Clearing the confusion over the presentation of the state budget, PWD minister H D Revanna on Tuesday June 19 said that chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has absolute authority on the issue as he was duly elected chief minister by Congress-JD (S) alliance and also holds the finance portfolio.

Addressing media persons he said, “There is absolutely no confusion or misunderstanding between chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and former chief minister Siddaramaiah over the presentation of the state budget. False news about issues over the budget is being spread."

Regarding his meeting with former CM Siddaramaiah at Ujire, where the latter is resting at Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital, he said that he had dropped in to enquire about his health and there were no political discussions.

On his meeting with Congress president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, he said, "It was only a formal meeting. Rumours were afloat that I had visited the Congress president to complain about Siddaramaiah. These are baseless allegations. Rahul Gandhi advised me to continue my good work in the state."

On the opening of Shiradi Ghat road, he said, "Due to rain, the opening of the road has been delayed. It will be opened in the first week of July. A budget of Rs 250 crore is required to bring out a permanent solution for the deteriorating road in the ghat section. I will send a request to the centre regarding the same shortly.”

Dakshina Kannada DC Sasikanth Senthil, DC of Udupi Priyanka Mary Francis, police commissioner T R Suresh, and MLAs Harish Poonja and Sanjeev Matandoor were present.
