Puttur: Exemplary - Turned down by kin, Muslim youths help cremate Hindu woman

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, Jun 16: In a heart-warming gesture, a group of Muslims assisted in conducting the final rites of a Hindu woman, after her own relatives and the locals refused to perform the funeral rituals.

Bhavani (52), a resident of Janavasati Colony at Vidyapura here, died of cardiac arrest early on Saturday June 16. She was unmarried. Following her death, her brother Krishna appealed to his relatives and the locals to help him conduct the last rites of his sister. However, none of them came forward to help him, and even till afternoon, the body remained at home.

When Vidyapura residents Shaukath, hamza, Nazeer, Riyaz and Farooq heard about Krishna's plight, they at once swung to action and collected funds to pay the crematorium and thus facilitate Bhavani's final rites. Not just that, when the relatives and the locals refused to bathe the body before the rites, Anganwadi teacher Rajeshwari, and locals Safia and Zubaida volunteered to do it. Thereafter, the youths brought an ambulance by which the body was taken to the cremation ground at Puttur. There, the group paid Rs 3,500 to the officials concerned and the funeral rites were conducted.

Speaking to reporters, Farooq who was among the group said, "We have facilitated Bhavani's funeral without considering caste or religion. We did not do it for publicity. All we want is that such incidents where a person is denied last rites never happen again. We had heard of such incidents being reported in places like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, but it is unfortunate that a tragedy like this has happened in our own village. Our intention is to give a message to the society that it should never happen again.

"It is lamentable that the final rites were not conducted by those whose responsibility it was. There are Hindutva outfits here, but those who claim to protect the interests of their community were not available when their own people needed them. Even the president of Kabaka panchayat who is from BJP did not visit Bhavani's home. This is really sad," said Farooq.

This is the India we are used to living in... not the one that communalism has been trying to divide it into... My respects to all the people who in the name of humanity helped perform the last rites.. Bragging and chest beating about Hindutva and threat to hindutva is a fake propaganda and gimmick to create vote banks.. The fools who fall for this have only turned their backs on humanity.. those are the ones who denied Bhavani her last rites... Shame on such people and shame on people who support them.. Dont worry, life is a circle.. What goes around, comes around.. what you sow thou shall reap...

Why are we blaming Hindutva, Bajrang Dal, BJP or Ram Sena?
These guys have done the job just as good human beings and not for any publicity or for any political or religious party.
Allah gave them Hidaaya and they will do it in future also, if the need arise without thinking of religion and caste.
They have helped the poor Hindu brother selflessly, so let's not create this as publicity column.

"Hindutva outfits" proved that they are good for nothing!

Only fit to wear skirt and Bangles.

    Attack women and School Girls,

Question brother and sister while having a coffee or ice cream.

Questioning couples whether they are really married ?

They are ready to do hunger-strike when cow kidnapped but not when millions of Cows exported by Cowards of their own Cow-boys and Cow-mans.

It is a tight slap to so called Hindhu outfits.... You are not available when your own people needs ur helping hand. No need to politicize this issue.
Here is a lesson to learn to each and every one. When you are down and out your neighbors who lift you up. No political parties or Religious outfit will come forward to help you out. SO DON'T FIGHT WITH EACH OTHER.
Good Job by Shaukath, hamza, Nazeer, Riyaz and Farooq, Anganwadi teacher Rajeshwari, and locals Safia and Zubaida.

Denying any humans last rite is the worst thing one would be committing. Even if a person is your enemy one has to respect the dead body and give its final rites.
Hearing the news that the kit and kin denying last rites irrespective of not being poor is really painful. Imagining how low a human being can go based of moral values.

Thanks to these guys. God bless you all for your noble deed. Thsee kind of gestures will bond human beings together, shun hatred and create a positive peaceful atmosphere.

Today is 3rd Sunday of June, the International Fathers Day. I wish all Daijiworld readers a Happy Fathers day and wish all children to do the fathers and everyone happy. Fathers, you have done the duty entrusted to you by God to carry on the generations. You may not be compared to mothers, but you are the ones who made them mothers. You may be taken for granted. But, you are "Roti, Kapda and Makan" and only when one misses these things they will know your value.

Where is big mouthed Shoba and Nalini Kumari are now? . Because there is no political gain they are not interested. BJP is only using Hindus to stay in power. Let them tell us what have they done for Hindus? . Incidents like this shows their true colour. Hinduism is very ancient and noble religion which doesn’t need protection by VHP, RAMA SENE and BJP. Don’t listen to the lies spread by these goons. They will only use you and then dump you. Recently UN, and American secret service has commented about these organisations.

During her sickness my cousin use to give bath every second day and then her last rites in a hindu traditional way conducted at the coat of my cousin.. Evan church give her rice and food items without any bias.
Hope every human does the same service to the needy. Poverty, old age, sickness all are no one wanted. Unfortunately it happens to many people.
