Mangaluru May 27: One person was injured after lighting struck at IPL Fan Park here at Nehru Maidan on Sunday, May 27.

Injured is identified as Siddappaji, a police personnel who was at IPL Fan Park after his duty.

Mangalureans were excited to watch IPL 2018 final between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad held at Mumbai. But due heavy rains, it was a disappointment for the cricket fans to witness the IPL final on a large screen in city. Soon after the lightning struck at IPL Fan Park people left the place and rain continued to pour heavily.

As a part of ongoing initiative to bring in newer audience through IPL, especially families, BCCI will be investing in Fan Parks across the country this season, where it is an initiative given to the fans living far away from the live action to relive the excitement and atmosphere that comes with watching an IPL match with friends and family in a public location.

Absolute waste of Time, Money and now danger to lives. There are hundreds of disturbing channels to broadcast match. Instead of silently watching at home they came to open ground.

During the initial days of Monsoon heavy lightening is guaranteed at any moment which is not this years special. Heavy Lightening attack is not all of a sudden. It is their mistake not to take precautionary measures and the people responsible for the show even after lightening and thunder symptoms should be immediately booked for interrogation.
