Mangaluru, May 26: A case has been registered in Barke police station relating to an incident which happened at Kudroli here in which a man forced his way into a house and inflicted stab injuries on a woman. The incident had happened on the night of Thursday May 24.
The Barke police have now been looking for Sohail (40) from Firdous Nagar, Uppala. The injured woman lives near Jamia Masjid in Kudroli. She has been admitted into a private hospital here for treatment.
It is said that the woman's husband and children were away at Nadupalli mosque when she heard someone knocking at her door. Her son opened the door. The accused, Sohail, suddenly barged into the house, posed threat to the woman and tried to attack her. Later, he went into the kitchen, picked up a knife and tried to stab the woman, it is said.
In an attempt to save herself from the attack, the woman suffered injuries to her right elbow, left elbow and palms. When the woman and her son shouted for help, the accused fled, it has been claimed.
The police are searching for the accused, who has gone missing.
