Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, May 23: The police officials stated that the boy who seemed like having died when sleeping due to sickness on a heap of wooden logs at Manjeshwar had died of internal bleeding.

Shravanth Acharya (9), son of Gangadhar Acharya - Sharada couple living in a rented house at Vorkady Bakery Junction, was found lying on a heap of wooden logs belonging to a saw mill near his home on May 20. He appeared to be very sick and looked like having breathed his last when sleeping there. Initially he appeared to be sleeping but a closer examination had revealed that he had died. Some injury marks found on his body had given rise to suspicions.

The body was taken to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital here to determine the cause of death. The tests revealed that the boy had fallen when playing on wooden log, which had injured his liver. Out of bleeding from the liver, he had breathed his last, the doctors concluded. The injury marks on his thigh and neck, they guessed, would have been caused when falling.

As the death of the boy had received widespread public attention, top police officials had visited the spot. The body was brought to the family home on Monday evening, after which it was cremated at the Ramattamajalu graveyard near Hosangady.
