Mangaluru: ‘Congress never betrayed me’ – Youth leader Mithun Rai

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DC)

Mangaluru, Apr 26: Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said that the Congress has never betrayed him and he would continue work for the party.

Addressing a press meet at Congress office on Thursday, April 26 Rai said, "Youth Congress has nurtured me and never done injustice to me. It has never betrayed me. It is a human tendency to feel bad when denied a party ticket. I worked in Moodbidri after Abhay Chandra Jain asked me to. I was not expecting a ticket though because current MLA Abhay Chandra Jain was still campaigning and worked in the constituency,”

He further said, "I met Congress president Rahul and he asked me to work for Indian youth Congress in strengthening it. This role is more than everything to me to work for my party,”

"When I came back from Delhi I was accorded a rousing welcome from youth Congress members and local leaders. I felt that I never lost anything and the continued support I am getting is part of my success," he added.

Regarding mass resignation of Youth Congress members he said, "Today along with district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and district Congress president Harish held a discussion and has rejected all the resignations. We want Rahul Gandhi to become our PM. Our main goal is to gain upper hand in 8 constituencies in the assembly polls.

District Congress president Harish and other office bearers were present.

Mithin Rai, the more you humble yourself the great your reward will be.. Pull back all resignations and fight tooth and nail for the Congress victory cause Congress victory is your and all the secular minded people's victory, which at this moment is the need of the hour. Pull in all like minded people to vote for Congress that the votes do not get split.

I don’t know you personally but got so much appreciation from my naphew, Mr. Afwan about you. Really you are a real hero for your affermative stand without greedy. It is sure that one day you will shine in front of people of whole India not only in Karnataka.

People like you are needed for present politics - to be secular India - to have daily peaceful life which whole Indian citizen wishes without just promises and promises.
I wish good luck in your future to serve the whole Indian community. It is sure, if you are sincere, there is no end for the road.

Brother Mithun. Dont worry, as per the high command, this was not the right election to launch you. You have to look at the bigger picture and at national level. Cong cannot take the risk of deploying a new comer especially after a string of losses . Ktaka is the only big state left. They HAVE to win to be in the reckoning or else Cong will be forgotten. You and me know that.

This ticket drama will never end. He was expecting moodbidri ticket and was trying and lobbying very hard. Unfortunately Abhaya chandra Jain got the better of him as he is a seasoned politician . Just that Mithun didn't see it coming . Most of us knew Mr Jain will stand for elections.
Once the elections are done Mithun will be definitely sidelined.
    Just wait and watch

    Dear brother Mithun
Unfortunately Congress has some black sheep who need to be identified and informed to the high command with required proof about their selfish and personal agendas. Keeping in mind the present need of the hour, the Congress party should give permanent exile to such unethical people. They have only been in service in terms of time, some 30 odd years and some 40 odd years with the party, and not through their contributions and actions to uplift the party... We need young blood to support the party immediately. You ate doing a good job. May God bless you and hopefully the party will give you due recognition...

Mass resignation and showing dissent is a way to showing your strength for party leaders and for mass public.
It creates a impression and perception in people's mind..
Even if he didn't get a ticket, his popularity has grown after this whole incident.
Time for Mithun Rai to be patient and put pressure on his senior leaders to perform or make way for youngsters.

Mr. Rai - right from my childhood - my father and I had been working for the party as grassroot workers. People like IDDINABBA, JANARDHAN POOJARI, POONACHA, were the people we used to canvas votes for. I always believed that as long as one is a true party cadre - it is not important to fight elections. What we need today is people like you to look into the problems of every-day life around us and help people overcome it. If you have stayed with Congress and decided to work for the people, you are a larger Hero for us than any one holding high office. GOD BLESS YOU. you will get your reward one day.
