Udupi: Police constable suspended for derogatory post on Facebook

Udupi, Apr 26: In a case relating to the derogatory post on Facebook, Raghavendra, a resident of police quarters, Manipal, who works as a police constable in the DAR (District Armed Reserve Police) Udupi was suspended from duty on Wednesday, April 25.

Kishore Kumar, an activist of the Congress party and resident of Heggunje had posted his photo with the achievements of the Congress party on his Facebook account on April 22.

In a complaint that is registered in Udupi CEN crime police station filed by Mamatha K Shetty, wife of Kishore, it is alleged that Raghavendra had commented in a derogatory manner to the post of Kishore on his facebook account.

The report of the incident was submitted to Laxman Nimbargi, superintendent of police, Udupi and he has suspended Raghavendra based on the reports of preliminary investigation.
