Mangaluru: Students display athletic skills at MMCT’s Sports Day

Mangaluru, Mar 28: Mangalore Marine College and Technology (MMCT) held its Sports Day at Kuppepadavu recently.

Cap S R Patnayak, deputy conservator in New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) addressing the gathering said, “Sports induce unity and discipline in students which helps them to overcome their problems in future. It helps in physical and psychological development of students. Having extra-curricular activities in college, helps in overall development of students’ personality.



The programme was also presided over by IRS surveyor of NMPT, president of Bharati Shipyard Mangaluru, president of Kuppepadavu panchayat Leelavathi, manager of Corporation Bank Kuppepadavu Praveen Nayak, principal of the college Dr Rajkiran Ballal, HODs Amalraj Rodrigus (Marine), Dr Krishnaraj (Civil), and Sunil Nayak (Mechanical).

Different sports events were organized by the college as part of the sports day celebration.
