Jeddah: KBN College of Engineering alumni holds AGM

Jeddah, Mar 19: Khaja Banda Nawaz College of Engineering (KBNCE) Gulbarga Alumni Jeddah chapter held its annual general meet at a Restaurant in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with felicitation to their chief patron Dr Syed Shah Gesudaraz Khusro Hussaini, president, Khaja Education Society during the event upon receiving prestigious Rajyotsava award from government of Karnataka.

Live technical presentations were presented by engineers Amjad Ali and Saleh bin Ali Munassar.

Dr Syed Shah Gesudaraz Khusro Hussaini attended the event as chief guest, and the guest of honor was Syed Abdul Aziz, senior editor Arab News. The event was presided over by alumni president Syed Nasir Khursheed.

Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed, general secretary, compered the programme.

Programme started with recitation of Holy Quran by Syed Mohamaid Ali Soofi. Alumni treasurer Abubakr bin Hussain officially welcome the distinguished guests and recalled unforgettable moments and cherished memories of the college days in his welcome speech.

While addressing to the audience, chief guest Dr Khusro appreciated the activities carried out by the alumni Jeddah chapter and interestingly elaborated the concept, types and role of alumni. He highlighted the difference of alumni, alumnus, and alumna and alumnae in his talk.

Audience applauded when he briefed about the future development and action plans of KBN University and also informed shortly Law College will be added among other 24 different institutions. He said, “I feel proud as about more than 15,000 students have achieved engineering degrees from KBN college of Engineering and successful in their careers in are successful professionals spread across all the continents.”

In his presidential speech Syed Nasir Khursheed thanked chief patron Dr Khusro and patron Dr Ruksar Fatima, vice-principal KBNCE for giving opportunity to form alumni in Jeddah. He said, “We have plans to start chapters in different cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

He said objectives of conducting these events is to get connected with all the general members of the Alumni to remind them the social responsibilities and get benefited by the technical presentations. He advised members to utilize alumni platform by sharing their knowledge with others, he gave credit for success of the alumni to the vibrant executive committee.

Event sponsor and managing director of Universal Inspection Company (UIC) Abdul Majeed Bathrudeen delivered the presentation about his company activities, standards and development. He informed that UIC has expanded their branches in various parts of GCC, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman at present.

In second part of his speech, he emphasized Muslim community to participate in the UPSC examinations at least a single member from each family. Also, he expressed the importance and benefits of Fajar Prayer as most of our Muslim families are missing the blessings and rewards of Allah for this world and hereafter.

Alumni executive member Mohammed Aejazuddin delivered the presentation about the alumni, organization structure, aims, objectives, activities. He also highlighted the achievements of the alumni, which was done by holding technical seminars, professional enhancement and development courses and career guidance support to the fresh graduated young talent alumnus.

Saleh bin Ali Munassar during his technical presentation on ‘Engineers and Soft skills’ explained benefits of adopting soft skills for the personal growth and enhancement of the career. He explained practical scenarios of engineering practice with and without soft skills. He emphasized the benefits of integrating engineering hard skills with the soft skills and business management skills to develop professional career as engineering leaders and entrepreneurs.

Amjad Ali, delivering a technical presentation on ‘QA/QC’, emphasized on management techniques to define, measure, analyze, design and verify the products to deliver a zero defects products to the consumers.

Dr Ruksar Fatima, patron KBNCE alumni and Vice principal of KBN college of Engineering sent her message and it was read by Eng. Mohammed Imdad Ali Joint Secretary, conveyed her heartiest greetings and gratitude to alumni about KBN university getting sanctioned by Karnataka government. She also briefed about KBNCE College developments and encouraged the diaspora of KBNCE to take part in the development of college by referring students and thanked all participants.

A memento as a token of appreciation was presented to the chief guest Dr Khusro Hussaini with standing ovation.

The alumni felicitated Dr Syed Naimatullah Husaini, vice president of alumni for achieving doctorate in the field of computer science, and also felicitated to alumni entrepreneurs Afsar Ustad, Mohammed Jaleel Ahmed, Syed Ahmed Ali Soofi and Mohammad Abdur Rab Hamed for their achievements in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

All the executive committee members comprising of Syed Mohiuddin Ahmed, Saleh bin Ali, Amjad Ali, Mohammed Yahiya, Mohammed Imdad Ali, Abubakr bin Hussain, Mohammed Tabrez Hussain Hundrug, Syed Qutbuddin and Mohammed Abdul Ameed received mementoes as a token of appreciation for their services to the alumni by chief guest.

Speakers were introduced by Syed Ahmed Ali Soofi, Mohammed Tabrez Hussain Hundrug and Syed Khutbuddin.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mohammed Yahiya, chief coordinator, He expressed his deep gratitude for chief guest Dr Khusro Hussaini, guest of honor Syed Abdul Aziz and all the guests. He thanked the presenters and other speakers for the quality of the presentation and knowledge delivered. He praised the efforts of the team to organize such a professional event.

The meeting concluded with a gala dinner and group photographs.
