Bihar man beheaded for naming town square Narendra Modi chowk

Darbhanga, Mar 16 (Deccan Chronicle): In a shocking incident, a 70-year-old man was attacked and beheaded by a group of 40 to 50 people in Bihar's Darbhanga district on Thursday over naming a town square "Narendra Modi chowk".

The man was attacked by about 40-50 men with hockey sticks and swords, who came on 25-30 motorcycles, his son said.

"My father went to them to explain the situation, but was beheaded, they also tried to kill my brother," the victim’s son said.

According to reports, the victim is the father of a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, whose brother (Kamal Yadav) was also injured in the assault.

According to reports, police have arrested four people in the case so far and the investigation is still on in the matter.

Meanwhile, BJP workers staged a protest in the town on Friday (March 16) demanding the arrest of all culprits apart from suspension of Sadar station in-charge.

The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Yadav, father of Tej Narayan Yadav who is BJP chief from Behala Panchayat.

Reports say that he was first attacked on the head, following which he was hit on the hand and lastly he was beheaded by a sword.

Notably, a chowk (square) located in Bhadaha village in Darbhanga was named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2016 by Tej Narayan. According to reports, another group wanted the chowk to be named after RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

The part that is guilty of the biggest appeasement politics is that which is being done by the BJP. BJP are appeasing the majority religious community for votes. There can be no greater appeasement than that. Shame on the BJP for selling religion for votes.
Biggest lie of BJP - One nation one law - Beef ban in other states but allowed in North East, Goa, why ? Where is one nation one law ?

We have always said that hate begets hate. BJP started this culture of hate and are now having to taste their own medicine. Hate will give rise to a cycle of violence which is unending. One example of that we see in Kerala between RSS and the CPI/CPM members.

Foremost, did the man think Modi owned Bihar that he named a chowk after the PM at his own accord ? Or, did the man own the chowk ? If at all he had so much love for Modi, he should have named his house as 'Modi Home'

I have no problem in naming any place or monument naming after Modi but it must be done after necessary permissions. Tomorrow I don't want to find a name board on my property as per somebody else's liking.

Now, about beheading the old man over naming the chowk - who gave them authority to take punitive measures over what the man did ? I agree the party workers demanding the arrest of all those who participated in the lynching, but how come all of them are so law-abiding now ? In our own town, people go to extremes of hitting the youth in the clubs, breaking the places of worship, why there is no call to arrest the culprits ? Those got arrested too, are released for want of evidence ?

Is the pain acute when it happens to you but its milder when its applied to other communities ?

    Rhea,

In Mangalore, people don't pull down a name board and erect another one in its place. They seek courts approval to make any changes. Mangaloreans are not 'angutha-chaap' like UP/Bihari illiterates.

    Madam,
When it comes to elected Member of Parliament by 100% Mangaloreans and looking into pub attack accused getting free, Mangaloreans education seems less than angutha-chaap' of UP/Bihari illiterates.
It is easy to buy 'anpad' voters than educated voters like Mangaloreans.
Mangaloreans have repeatedly voted for a person who can't even ask question in Parliament but good in Press club speeches.
For your knowledge Bihar sends more IAS and IPC than Mangalore.

After Nirav Modi's day bank loot and escape with Rs12,000 crores even 'Chowkidar' on duty citizens of India don't want hear the name of 'Modi'.
In 2014 'Har Har Mahadev' replaced with Har har Modi'. In just 4 years of ruling citizens have realised their mistake and now wanted 'HUR HUR Modi'.

I am pity sad for Indian citizen being killed for naming chowk. After lynching of innocent Indian citizens there is hardly any value for life in PM Modi's India.
