Bengaluru: Four drown in two separate incidents in state

Bengaluru, Feb 19: Two youngsters who had visited a canal near Hosakunduwada in the outskirts of Davanagere city drowned there. The victims have been identified as Pradeep (22) and Ramesh (23), from Vinobanagar in the city.

Ramesh was a painter by profession while Pradeep worked for Aquaguard company. On Sunday, the duo had gone to swim in the canal along with another friend. The other friend has gone missing. A pulsar motor bike, Rs 5,000 in cash and three cellphones were found at the spot. Vidyanagar police visited the spot and undertook investigation.

Two more men, who had gone to swim in the standing water of Sri Ramadevaru Dam near Holenarasipur in the district, lost their lives. Salman Khan (18) and Rahul (18) from Hassan, had arrived at Holenarasipur to have a view of the dam. Some people who heard Salman raising an alarm, rushed to the spot, brought him out and took him to a hospital here. But he died before medical help could be extended. His friend, Rahul, had already drowned.
