Udupi: Differences between Swamijis resolved - person in-charge of parking fee removed

Udupi, Feb 2: In the backdrop allegations about irregularities purported to have been committed in the matter of handling of parking system of Sri Krishna Math here, a meeting of Sri Krishna Math Premises Seva Trust with the presence of different heads of Maths here including Paryaya Sri Palimaru Swamiji was held on Thursday February 1. The meeting was convened at Vijayadhwaja choultry here, which belongs to Pejawar Math.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Sri Vishveshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math narrated that a person named Udaya Subrahmanya had been appointed to oversee collection of parking fee at the parking lot of Sri Krishna Math on behalf of the said trust. He said that Shirur Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji has made an allegation that Udaya maintained different receipt books containing receipts bearing the same serial and thus committed irregularities in collection of parking fee and accounting for it.

"In this backdrop, we have discharged Udaya Subrahmanya from the responsibility of collecting parking fee of the Math. Henceforth, the resposnsibility of collecting parking fee has been entrusted to Shirur Swamii," he stated. He also explained that in view of opposition from some Swamijis for two shops being run by a person named Vishnumurty in the parking area, instructions have been issued to vacate them. He further said that at the instance of Shirur Swamiji, he also has agreed to clear other shops also functioning in the area.

"During my Paryaya period, the Math has not suffered any losses as far as parking fee is concerned. We have handed over to the trust an amount that is in excess of the fee collected. We also spent Rs 50 lac on Yatri Nivas and Rs 2.5 crore on construction of building for tourists in the parking area. Therefore, the trust has not faced any injustice or loss from Pejawar Math," he clarified.

The Swamiji of Shirur Math stated that the main purpose of the effort initiated by him in this direction was to serve the devotees of Sri Krishna Math in a better way. He said that his intention is to make Sri Krihna Math area free of vehicles and commercial activities. "Some people have been trying to defeat this very purpose. I have provided evidences to the Swamijis about the activities of these people. Henceforth, all the facilities needed for devotees will be made available in parking area. We will also undertake development activities in 5.5 acres of land acquired by our Math," he explained.

In addition to Paruyya Palimaru Swamiji, junior Swamiji of Pejawar Math,Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji, Sri Vishwavallabhateertha Swamiji of Sode Math, junior Swamiji of Admar Math and Sri Vidyavallabhateeertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Math participated in the meeting.

    The person should be sent behind bars...
    When good people give up fight against irregularities these people definitely multiply in numbers in our society... either in private sector or government sector... Modus operandi is same everywhere...
