Bantwal: Passenger tries to assault autorickshaw driver, complaint registered

Bantwal, Jan 13: An autorickshaw driver has registered a complaint at the Bantwal rural police station, for alleged attempted assault by a person who boarded his rickshaw on the pretext of hiring the same.

Mohammed Imtiyaz (28), a resident of Farangipet, is the autorickshaw driver who has filed the complaint. As per the details of the incident, Imtiyaz was driving his autorickshaw towards Hu Hakuva Kallu via Ammemar, when a person stopped his vehicle on the pretext of hiring near the road that connects to Kodman.

The said passenger suddenly pulled the collar of Imtiyaz's shirt and tried to assault him. Sensing danger the driver parked the autorickshaw and ran into a nearby bush and informed the police of the same.

Police have rescued the complainant from the spot of the incident. Imtiyaz also informed the police that two bike-borne men wearing helmets had visited the spot where his rickshaw was parked.

Bantwal rural police have registered a complaint in this regard.
