Mumbai, Jan 11: Former vice president of Billavara Association, here, retired teacher, one of the founders and former presidents of Bharath Cooperative Bank passed away at his apartment in Santacruz west at the age of 95.

He was the son of Chellaru, Kariaya Thota, Dakshina Kannada residents Uggappa Poojary and Thoma Poojarthy and was felicitated during the inauguration of the 100th branch of Bharath Bank and 85th anniversary of Billavara Association.

He was also honored by Laxmi Chaya discussion forum and several other organizations. He was patriotic and had taken part in the national freedom movement. He has left behind three sons, two daughters and a large number of friends and relatives.

His last rites were held at Juhu crematorium at 3.30 pm.
