Puttur: Christmas get-together held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Dec 25: In order to share the happiness of Christmas with the well wishers, St Philomena College and St Philomena PU College organized a Christmas get-together on December 22 in the college auditorium.

Managing director of Adarsha Hospital, Puttur, Dr M K Prasad Bhandary participated as the chief guest. After cutting the Christmas cake, in his message, he said, “Christmas does not belong to Christians alone. It belongs to the whole world. Jesus Christ, the son of God came to this earth to improve the mankind. It is the duty of every one of us to maintain peace and religious harmony in the society.”

Campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro highlighted the objectives and significance of Christmas get together.

Principal of St Philomena PU College Fr Vijay Lobo in his message said, “Christmas is a festival of experiencing God’s love. It tells us to become a good human being.”

Sahana Rao and group sang the prayer song. Principal Prof Leo Noronha extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The members of Divya Chethana Association sang Christmas carols. The administrative staff of the college Mariet Shirly D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks. Assistant professor Prashanth Rai compered the programme.
