Dubai, Dec 8: VAT is being implemented in UAE from January 1 2018. The VAT law was issued sometime back in the UAE and the draft regulations came out on November 8. VAT is going to change the way the business has been conducted in the UAE and will have impact on almost all the industries and especially affect the end consumer with the cost of living is expected to increase.
Each industry is going to be affected in a different manner with majority of the goods being taxed at 5% while a few goods and services are zero rated and others exempt. All companies need to prepare for the incoming VAT with an impact assessment on how VAT is going to affect their businesses, their profitability, their cash flow, their processes and their IT systems.

About the Speaker
Rajiv Shah is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is currently the Founder and Chief Executive Office of GIC Consultants. He specializes in auditing, taxation and consulting. He is the past president of the Abu Dhabi Chapter of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). His has vast experience across diverse industries including Finance, Investment Banking, Banking, Real Estate and Property Management, Healthcare and Wellness, Information Technology, Broking, and Entertainment. He has served on Board of several diverse companies. He has practiced Indirect Taxes including VAT in India. He has been a visiting lecturer for ICAI and other universities in India and UAE.
Rajiv will present about all of this in his one hour presentation and take questions from the audience as well.
