Udupi: Kasturba Medical College’s Dr Lydia Andrade awarded PhD

Udupi, Nov 27: Dr Lydia Andrade, assistant professor, department of Anatomy, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by Manipal University, Manipal, for her thesis entitled ‘Evaluation of detoxification of lead in preparation of Nagabhasma: Multi-organ approach to explore the possible anatomical, histopathological, embryological and cellular alterations’.

Her thesis got completed under the guidance of Dr Kumar M R Bhat, professor and chairperson - Anatomy, RAK Medical & Health Sciences University, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

She is the wife of Sandeep Andrade and the mother of Alistair and Annelita Andrade. She is the daughter of Gregory and Nelly Quadros, and the daughter-in-law of Jerome and Clotty Andrade, Kalmady.

She is an alumnus of St Mary’s English Medium School, Udupi, Poorna Prajna, College, Udupi and Manipal University, Manipal.

Apart from her teaching profession, she is also a resource person of the Family Commission, Udupi diocese.

    Hearty Congrats to my dearest Niece Lydia Andrade, Kalmady... Very proud of her that inspite of taking care of full responsibility of the family, 2 kids and job, academic pursuits side by side is always challenging... God bless her and wishing her all the best.

    She has also participated in "MOZO TALLO GAYTALO" from Udupi Division.
