Kundapur/Udupi, Nov 20: Chief minister (CM) of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, visited temple town, Kollur in the taluk, on Monday November 20. On her arrival, managing trustee of the temple, Harish Shetty, extended her a warm welcome.

Raje had arrived at Mangaluru from Bengaluru by a special flight. From there, she came to Areshirur near Kollur by helicopter. After reaching the temple, she offered special puja.

During the dignitary's visit, tight police security had been arranged. Entry into the temple has been off the limits for the general public from 10 am to 3 pm.

No advance info - devotees suffer

Devotees as usual came from far away places to have the darshan of the goddess on Monday too, unaware of the fact that they would not be able to go inside as no advance information was available. Many had to return without paying obeisance to the presiding deity of Kollur temple, Goddess Mookambika, disappointed.

Udupi district BJP president, Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, BJP leader, Sukumar Shetty, and members of the managing committee of the temple were present.

Udupi

After visiting Shree Mookambika Temple at Kollur, Vasundhara Raje proceeded to Shree Krishna Math in Udupi.

In Udupi, she offered prayers and received ‘prasadam’ from Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar Math.
After 'darshan' of Lord Sri Krishna, she received Anugraha Manthrakshate from the Swamiji. She was offered a saree and an idol of Sri Krishna as a token of gratitude.

Raje was accompanied by her son Dushyanth Singh.

"I have always wanted to visit the math and meet Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji many times. I have known Swamiji for a long time now. Our family also knows him very well. My mother was a devotee and so am I. Now my son and grandchildren have met him. So four generations have met him and sought blessings," she said.

She also praised Swamiji for his dedication and maintaining the math beautifully.

"Kollur Mookambika Temple is very beautiful. I have tried to come almost 5 to 7 times to Udupi but was not able to visit. There is a saying that everything has happens at its own time. You can try as much as you want, but if God does not want, it will not happen," she said and added that the temple visits have been some amazing moments of her life.

Raje refused to comment on the political issues of Karnataka.

let her visit the temples ..no issues. when a person is corrupt, he will not get mental peace , specially with this kind of son (lalit modi partner in crime ). they deserve to suffer like this . Its shameful local so called leaders , temples etc taking TRP. just because Udupi Bhatta told her in Canada to visit Udupi temples to save her son from Modi gate.

C M who didn't lift her finger against those who wanted to hurt or kill our Beti Deepika should have been shown black flags to notice our dissent against those fringe groups that are threatening to take law into their hands.
We showed once again we are generous even to those who want to hurt our people.

All nautanki. They are not real devotees. Corrupt and criminal minded politicians like this should not be allowed to enter the temple. These are born to create problems to common man and in this case real devotees. Because of these idiot politicians, other devotees are not able to offer prayers to the devi Mookambika.

Mirchi lagee? Yes I am real devotee. I don't indulge in communal politics. I don't indulge in corruption. I don't involve in criminal activities. I believe in humanity. These politicians don't have any humanity irrespective of their party they represent. I know these politicians very well and I assume you don't know them really. Sad for you.

Of late high profile temple visits have become more and more frequent. I have a point to make here. Politicians are very humble and down to earth during election campaigns and once they are elected they forget they are supposed to be at the service of citizens and the democracy and on the contrary become autocratic as per their whims and fancies. Are these visits meant for true worship or for asking pardon from Gods for their ongoing wrong doings or are they to fool the innocent people or great publicity stunts just for vote bank ?

These days Kollur temple is in too much demand especially, by BJP politicians.
Is that out of faith & devoution
    or forthcoming election promotion?
Be aware that, God knows our intentions.

Let her go to temple..No issues. But why her visit should cause problem to other real devotees? These politicians want to show off and hence they visit temples. Devotion is big zero. If there is real devotion, they should shed away criminal and corrupt nature which is impossible for these politicians as long as fools are supporting these dumb politicians.

Your comments are not at all acceptable. Please for God's sake don't bring politics over here.
its not just BJP people all Congressmen are visiting over here. When I visited India I had been there too.
Most of the ( 90%) trustees are from Congress. President of the trust is DK shiv Kumars nominne.
There is nothing like BJP are visiting. Tomorrow Sri Lanka president is visiting too.
Lets keep politics away from it.
let Devi Mookambika brings happiness, prosperity and health to all.

Being a women, she could not control the crime against women in Rajastan, which is highest in the country!!!
