Chikkaballapur: People without clarity about God indulge in flaring emotions - CM

‘Consumed non veg food, but did not enter sanctum sanctorum in Dharmasthala’

Daijiworld Media Network – Chikkaballapur (MS)

Chikkaballapur, Oct 31: Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah revealed that he had consumed chicken along with fish before visiting the Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple on October 22. However, he adds that he stayed outside the sanctum sanctorum and offered prayers.

The CM entering the Dharmasthala temple after consuming non-vegetarian food had triggered a controversy with people claiming he had made the temple premises unholy.

Addressing a gathering in Manchanabale, of Chikkaballapur taluk on October 30, Siddaramaiah said that people who do not have clarity about God are indulging in flaring emotions of people based on caste and religion.

Justifying his temple visit, he said that he did not enter the sanctum sanctorum but bowed to God only from outside.

“How come the temple becomes unholy? Any food that we consume stays inside our body for a maximum of 48 hours. Don't people go to temples before the completion of 48 hours after eating meat? It is not right to say that the offering should be done in a particular way or one has to go to temple only after eating certain food,” he said.

“The real devotion is when one acts according to his conscience. We know from history that Bedara Kannappa offered deer meat to Lord Eshwara,” he said.

Faith is a matter of personal conviction and it gives peace and solace to the devotees. Nowadays even faith is used for political purposes and to create trouble as there is no limit for the hypocrisy of some people for selfish gains.

The CM is right as far as his statement goes. One enters the sanctum santorum with all their faults and pray that they be healed; if one thinks he or she has a clean heart, they are like pharasee of the Old Testament who tell God that he is not like the other guys around Him, like the tax collector, and that God should accept his offering and not that of the others who are sinners. What a twisted logic and arrogance before God! I remember the days long gone that the Christian Church made it a sacrilege and mortal sin to receive communion soon after eating. So much for the power of the Church to dictate what is pleasing to God and what is not.

God is neither vegetarian nor non-vegetarian or God is not nothing to do with sectarian.

God has nothing to do with your clothes or your clean body.

God wanted a clean heart and a clean soul.

After the death before entering into heaven God will not ask you whether you are a vegetarian nor a non-vegetarian.

"Devotion is when one acts according to his conscience"
    Rightly said.
Such people are serving political motives in the pretext of religion and not God's word or love. All double standards but God knows better.

If the mind of the man is not pure, then it is not pleasing to God, If people love each other and do not carry life His birth is no use. The BJP's agenda is to disrupt the people, The BJP is a party that can make communal tension in society.
