Mangaluru: Car crashes into Koragajja Katte at Bondel, no injuries

Mangaluru, Oct 23: In a freak accident, a speeding car, trying to avoid a collision with another car, crashed into Swami Koragajja Seva Samithi temple here, on the Airport Road at Bondel on Monday, October 23.

The unregistered Volkswagen Polo was moving towards the city when a car driven by a lady towards Bondel took a sudden U-turn near the temple. In order to avoid hitting the car, the driver of the Polo, veered off the road crashing into the temple.











The railings and construction around the temple was damaged. No one was injured in the incident.

The place is always frequented by people who are devotees of Swami Koragajja. 

Personnel from South traffic police station rushed to the spot and took control of the situation.

    This is a very dangerous spot and luckily no one got hurt. Natural tendency of people is to blame either the lady taking U turn or the speeding car driver who crashed. I happen to view the CC tv footage and clearly the lady taking U turn could not see the oncoming vehicle. The reason is simple - plants/bushes on the divider creates a blind spot for oncoming vehicle, particularly two or four wheelers. Police and MCC should note that and clear these plants/bushes off the divider to prevent such incidents.

    no point blaming bushes. thats a very wrong way to take a u-turn. lady should have backed up more than that, and proceed slowly only when having a clear.

    As per cc camera there was no fault of this Volkswagen Polo car, there is a other car who taken careless u turn without watching the trafic on other side, good that some vendors and street walker just escaped without hurt,the entire cost has to be born by other car.
