Puttur: Couple killed after private bus rams into bike at Uppinangady

Puttur, Oct 17: In a tragic incident, a couple was killed in an accident at Uppinangady here on the night of Tuesday October 17.

The deceased have been identified as Seenappa Acharya and his wife Vishalakshi, residents of Olamogru, Koilatadka here.

The accident occured after a private bus, in a bid to overtake, rammed into their bike.

While Seenappa died on the spot, Vishalakshmi breathed her last in a hospital sometime later.

Seenappa and Vishalakshmi were travelling from Uppinangady to Guruvayankere, while the Varun Travels bus plying from Uppinangady to Beltangady.

Uppinangady police have registered a case.

    Busses driven rashly and getting people killed are almost becoming daily occurrences. Two more lives have ended.

    It is expedient that strict actions are taken the bus drivers and the fines increased to at least four figures.

    I think bus driver is no muslim, why to protest.?? Now there is no value fo human life..cows are better than human being, when govt try to interduce some govt buses but some fools support for private bus association.., when thing come on us then only we can realise.

    people should wakeup and protest for these killer drivers .other wise no one will take action for protection of life of innocent people. before in charge minister said 4 car given for police and traffic department for supervise national and state highways but may be they are using for personal work.

    Blame is MLA AND MP. We elected them to do our work not pvt bus owners work.
    It’s time to call bandh on banning pvt busses and ask for govt busses.
