Mangaluru, Oct 14: Observing World Mental Health Day, students of Dr M V Shetty College of Social Work, performed a street play at Kavoor junction on Saturday, October 14.

Rosamma, police officer from Kavoor police station attended the programme and lauded the students’ concern for the society. “Being healthy mentally is very important. People living in the society should help each other cut down pressure and lend moral support. Mental issues occur in one’s life due to health problems, work pressure, family circumstances, financial conditions and other reasons.”

“Everyone will have certain issues in life. But we should take it as a challenge. If problems haunt us continuously, we need to undergo treatment or counseling,” she added.

Fifteen students from the college are participating in it. We have held many programmes like these previously. There can be several reasons for mental illness. This is what we are trying to convey through our campaign.”
