Mangaluru, Oct 7: In a suicide attempt, a teenager jumped off a building at Adu Maroli here on the evening of Saturday October 7.

Pratham, a student of 9th standard, is said to be in a critical condition.

Son of Padmanabha, an employee at the income-tax office, and Vishala, a telecommunications employee, Pratham jumped off the third floor of his neighbour's building.

It is learnt that before jumping off the building, Pratham left a note in which he reportedly stated that he was committing the act as he was poor in studies. But the note was written in a way that arose suspicion about the deadly Blue Whale challenge, wherein he stated that he was 'not interested' in anything and he was under the influence of Blue Whale and should not be blamed, sources said. He also left several cryptic messages scribbled on a white sheet on the terrace of the building. He also stated that his parents had always supported him.

The police arrived at the spot and are checking his mobile phone too, to determine if there was really any Blue Whale challenge angle. Police further said that his writings are being analysed.

His neighbours as well parents reportedly saw him walk along the top of compound walls for the past one week, but did not suspect anything amiss.

Pratham has been admitted to a private hospital.

Kankanady city police have registered a case and further investigations are on.

The government, Educational institutions, Parents, Religious & social organizations and the media must work together to bring right awareness in the minds of teen agers. Even the public can contribute in some way to pass the message to young ones about the havoc of Blue whale game.
We have enough IT technology/brains to find a right solution to counter and ban this epidemic with government’s involvement to save young ones falling prey to Evils of the game.

When Modi Govt. can ban Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes in India, cannot they ban the Killer Game in India.
What about the Swachh Bharat movement? What about the HRD minister Prakash Javadekar, he should take responsibility of any Blue Whale game deaths.

Now a days parents are not giving much attention to their kids. They allow their kids to use smartphones & tablets to play games , watching live sports etc.
But still they do not know what is happening around. This has become a fashion for all children in this generation by showing off that they have smartphones & tablets instead of using Slates & books..
Parents should keep an eye on children by checking their Room, School bags, Shelfs, beds & pillows etc.

Fattedness of the parents. Why does your child need mobile phone with internet access? It's because parents don't have time for their children. Simple. I feel parents need to understand money doesn't grow on trees and no need to be at par with the rich and affluent. During our days in school high school and college, we never dreamt of car bike mobile phones. Our parents said finish your degree, get a job and buy whatever you want on your own money. These days parents just take loans and swipe artificial money to keep up with others. Not required. Be who you are. You are better.

@Mario lalbagh, one side you are right .sure parents had to pay a little more attention one side.Other side there are students even threaten and try to do sueside if they dont get what they want like smartphone to keep up with the present generation.students laugh at them when one doesnt have.A situation which we certainly didnt have. Many boast about their type of plays,or smart phones.Nowadays hardly anyone without smartphone in India which makes me to wonder. Many rich parents just push costly bikes or watches, and and..to cover up their absence.or to show their ability. This student must have not the attention of parents because of lack of IT. speciality.otherwise they would have controlled.Hope the boy will get his health back soon.

Death? who is celebrating death here? By the way, the boy is not dead. When the government can ban so many sites/ things, why don't bluewhale game? Celebrating death is the habit of Modi supporters. This is evident on Gauri Lankesh death and Modi was following those who celebrated Lankesh death.
