Udupi, Sep 20: Udupi resident Ravi Katpadi and the dance troupe Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Tanda have donated money, collected by wearing entertainment costumes for the treatment of sick and needy children.

Ravi Katpadi had collected Rs 5.12 lac by entertaining people wearing costumes during Krishna Janmastami, which was distributed to seven poor and sick children.

Esha Vittaldas Swamiji, who was the chief guest of this noble event, said he was touched by Ravi’s gesture. “The costumes are worn to get rid of sorry and enliven people. It is a real service to the Almighty,” he said.



Additional deputy commissioner Anuradha G said that Ravi Katpadi has served the society without expecting anything in return. “A proposal of Ravi Katpady’s service should be submitted to Deputy Commissioner, to nominate him for the Rajyotsava award,” she suggested.

The amount collected by Ravi Katpadi was donated for the treatments of one and a half year old Lavanya suffering from congenital ichthyosis, eleven-year-old Mehekji from Shivamogga undergoing treatment for blood cancer, one and a half month old infant of Dendoorkatte who is struggling for life, heart surgery of Arush, one and a half year old Kishen suffering from eye ailment, Ashik Shetty who is unable to walk and Arushi Alevoor.

Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Thanda donates Rs 2.5 lac

Bhagavathi Nasik Kala Thanda has donated Rs 2.5 lac, collected by wearing entertainment costumes to poor families.

The cash was handed to Laxmivara Theertha Sripada of Shiroor math on September 17.

Rs one lac of the amount was given for the treatment of twelve years old Sresta who is suffering from anaemia. The remaining amount was distributed equally between seven needy patients.

    Artiste Ravi Katpadi and Bhagavathi Nasik troupe,did a very marvelous and wonderful job by donating their all the earnings collected by wearing entertainment costumes for the treatment of sick and needy children.This kind of willingness or desire,attitude,mindset,wish even rich people with lot of wealth with them do not have.But Mr.Ravi and Bhagavathi troupe both are equally great. May God bless them with all His mighty to do more and more commendable,laudable works like this.
