Prof R S Deshpande appointed Director of BASE

Bengaluru, Aug 23: Prof R S Deshpande, economist and former Director of Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), has been appointed as the director of newly established Bengaluru Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE).

The appointment was officially announced in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The BASE management board headed by Higher Education Minister Basavaraja Rayareddy appointed Prof Deshpande as the director of the institute.

The first-year degree classes would begin from August 28. 

A total of 50 students have obtained admission for first batch of students in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics.

A smart classroom with 50 student capacity was also ready.
