Udupi: Javanera Koota Doddanagudde marks 'Atidonji Dina' with cricket match

Udupi, Jul 25: Javanera Koota Doddanagudde organised a 'Bat Chend da Gobbu' cricket match to mark 'Atidonji Dina', at Doddanagudde School Ground, here, on Sunday, July 23.

City Municipality council member R K Ramesh Poojary inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Ramesh said,"The 'aati' month has its own importance. One should promote Tulunadu culture by organising such programmes. Only then the rich heritage culture can be preserved."


    



    


























































Guests Keshav Acharya, and Suresh Doddanagudde wished the cricket players the best.

What set this programme apart from any other was the prize that the winner received. Along with a winning trophy, the team that won, was given 'Akki Mudi', a few kilos of rice bundled in hay. Individual winners were given a rooster.

Team Sri Guru, Gundibailu secured the first place and winners and won the trophy and five Akki Mudis worth Rs 8000.

The Symonds team, Kadiyali won the second place. The team took home a permanent trophy and three Akki Mudis.

The high scorer of the match announced as 'Man of the match' was Raghavendra Kannarpady and 'Man of the series' was Sujith Acharya.

Special coconut bags were distributed to individual players.

The prizes were distributed to winners at the valedictory ceremony.

Sujith Bidu, Lions Club secretary, Srinivas Hebbar, trustee of Kadiyali Temple administration board, Kishore Acharya, Suresh Nayka, Dinesh Gundibailu, and Prabhakar Poojary were present on occasion.
