Sunny Sunday morning in Delhi, rains likely


New Delhi, July 23 (IANS): It was a sunny Sunday morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature recorded at 26.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.

The Met Office has also forecast light rainfall. "The sky will remain generally cloudy, while light rains are expected during the daytime," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degree Celsius.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 per cent.

The national capital has recorded 4.7 mm rainfall till 8.30 a.m. on Sunday, with Ayanagar experiencing highest rainfall recorded at 9.2 mm.

So, far Delhi has recorded 335.6 mm rainfall since June 1 till date, which is 56 per cent surplus, the IMD said.

Saturday's maximum temperature was 34.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius.
