Saudi woman in miniskirt video arrested after public outcry

Dubai, Jul 19 (AP): Police in Saudi Arabia have arrested a young woman who wore a miniskirt in public and who had posted the video online, sparking an outcry from people who say she flagrantly violated the kingdom's conservative Islamic dress code.

Saudi Arabia's state-run TV reported today that police in the capital, Riyadh, arrested the woman for wearing "immodest clothes" and referred her case to the country's public prosecutor.

The young Saudi woman drew attention over the weekend when she shared on Snapchat a video of herself walking in a historic village north of the capital wearing a miniskirt and crop top, and showing her hair.

Saudi Arabia has strict dress codes for men and women. Women must wear loose, long robes and most also cover their face.

Common Folks Control your frustration .. , In Saudi Women are highly respected and has many rights compared to other nation. Saudi women can wear anything and they do expose but only to her hubby. Visit any women clothing center in saudi you will know who is more fashionable. Dont try to implement what you see in entertainment industry, its unrealistic as they try running the buisiness by tempting people. No man would like his women to be seen as piece of meat to other men, hence dont judge their ideology .

That is a sexist comment. No man has the right to tell a woman what to wear or how to behave. The woman has rights to choose what she wants to wear, eat, see and speak. She is not a mans property.

..few days back Turkey education ministry instructed Schools to stop teaching Darwin's theory of evolution in high schools,..In Pakistan schools also evolution theory termed as bogus..objection is more of religious thinking rather than scientific thinking..people who ridicule cloning/plastic surgery mentions in vedic scripture, should answer why Darwin is not acceptable to them and they believe in their own theory..

Darwin is not the one who created this universe and everything in it. If Darwin's theory is correct, then there shouldn't have been monkeys around.
It's about the belief system. If you believe that you are evolved from monkey, good for you. But, I am not.

Chris, Tel Aviv, your envy towards oil rich countries is truly disgusting. Do you know how many families live luxurious life in India due to their family members earning in Gulf countries ? Saudi Arabia has strict law. So, better advise your dear and near ones to stop taking employment there. Will anyone accept your advise ? Do not be jealous towards Arab countries where lacs of Indians irrespective of their religion earn their bread. May God bless these Arab countries with more and more prosperity.
