Kolar, Jul 17: In a sting operation conducted by officials of National Rural Health Mission, two doctors and a  junior pharmacist of the government hospital at Malur in the district stand suspended after their were found to be indulging in malpractices. These suspensions were ordered on the basis of report filed by the team of officials.

The employees who were suspended for dereliction of duty are taluk medical officer, Dr Prasanna Kumar, medical officer, Dr Ravishankar, and junior pharmacist, Neelamma. They have been accused of dereliction of duty and misconduct.

Director and other officials of National Rural Health Mission visited the taluk hospital at Malur in the guise of patients. They found that medical officer, Dr Ravishankar, was collecting money from patients after medical examination. The irregularities  listed by them included non-publication of rates in laboratory, keeping men and women in same room after surgery, charging even the  patients holding below poverty line ration cards etc.

The report mentions about the fact that Neelamma told the patients that medicines were not available, although they were in stock. The patients were directed to private medical shops. In the report, they had held taluk medical officer responsible for all these lapses.

    They only suspended them ?should have arrested and cancelled their licence,aprobation .criminals.They belong inside jail not outside.Everywhere this business is in practice.Noone controls.or noone is interested?Everyone wants their own backs to be sure.Just look into their assets and bank accounts.Dont feel ashamed to collect money from poor?Heavy fine should be collected from them.
