Mangaluru: Imminent arrest of Hindu leaders - Nalin cuts short Russia visit

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Taking note of the efforts being made to arrest Hindu leaders in Dakshina Kannada district and continuance of disturbances here, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has cut short his visit of Russia. Kateel, who happens to be part of a delegation touring Russia, is expected to reach the city on Wednesday July 12.

Nalin had left with a parliamentary delegation led by Lok Sabha speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, to Russia. The delegation was to take part in various meetings in Russian Federation for three days before returning to India on July 14. However, in view of volatile situation in his home constituency, Nalin is coming back, duly obtaining permission from the Lok Sabha speaker heading the delegation.

The delegation had held fourth inter-parlliamentary meeting with Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of Russia's State Duma. In addition to Nalin, MPs, Hema Malini, Dr Veerendra Kumar, Muhammed Saleem, and some officers happen to be the members of the Indian parliamentary delegation.

He can't even raise one question in parliament during 'zero hours' in favour of his elected seat what he will do in Russia? We have seen him only organising 'Dharna' for demanding compensation for his Sangh brothers.In many cases it was proved that murderers are from the same organisation.
I feel pitty for Mangaloreans being most educated district in Karnataka elected people's representative not once but twice, who is know threatening to burn down his own constituency before 'smart city' is built.
His cut short visit certainly proves that BJP don't want peace in Mangalore. He will use his political influence like NAMO Naresh who got from jail to free bird. If the Hindu leaders arrested then his next term will difficult. As long as Mangalore burns BJP will survive in power for ever.

Can you people list out his development work in last several years as MP?

Just a comment on those who make fun on languages. We, Indians, are gifted with so many beautiful languages. Just in a small (few hundred square kilometers) place like Dakshnina Kannada, we have Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Beary, Kodava etc. Even in Kannada we have so many variety. This kind of variety & diversity is unthinkable in most part of developed world.

Most part of world has been conquered by British who dumped English all over. Most part of South America (including Mexico) was conquered by Spaniards who mercilessly slaughtered innocent natives. I had a Peruvian friend who would describe how handful of Spanish Conquistadors tricked Incas into giving their gold and killed them shortly afterwards. Along with killing, the conquerors raped women and had mixed blood children. And now we have only Spanish being spoken in S. America and all other languages and cultures are lost.

Back to the point, in no way English is a superior language to Tulu/ Kannada/ Konkani/ Beary. We need to stop giving special status to English speakers or make fun of people speaking "our" languages. So there is nothing wrong with Modi's Gujarati, Nalin Kumar's Tulu, Khader's Beary bhashe or for that matter Rahul Gandhi's Italian (if he knows it).

Though no language is superior to other,English has been a common platform and made communication easy. It's not dumped on us but, it's a gift. Where as Indians today not willing to accept even Hindi as national language, but, feel proud to speak English.

I remember in 1977 Mr. A.B. Vajpayee as Foreign Minister cut short his visit to China when Chinese army invaded Vietnam. The entire nation appreciated his action as a mark of protest against China. But now Mr. Nalin shortening his Russian visit on the pretext of arresting Hindu leaders in his constituency is laughable. Has he taken the entire responsibility of protecting those community leaders? Aren’t they able to defend themselves? What was need to cut short his visit at the expense of taxpayer’s money? What impression will the Russian delegation have on us? At least he could have looked into the matter after his return.

I was reading readers comments and want to put some of my comments. Pls note as I always say I'm not a Congress or a BJP supporter and not associated with any Religious affiliates. Nalin Kumar Kateel before becoming MP was in the RSS. He was a good orator and was made a BJP Candidate by BJP authorities and with the tactic support of Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. Janardhan Poojary at that time had already had a heavy rift with Dharmadikari Veerendra Hegde and he told once that I can win elections without the support of Billava community. So basically that was his downfall and Janardhan Poojary being such a senior in Politics could not win over a small ant like Nalin Kumar Kateel. He lost this election because of his tongue and some of his statements were pro minority which irked the Majority community. To be very Frank there were many minority leaders were also saying Jnardhan Poojary was doing too much. Anyhow he doesn't listen to anyone and see his status now. He lost the last election against Nalin with more 1.75 Lakhs. We need a strong candidate from Congress for the next Lok Sabha election who can win over all communities, acceptable to everybody, mature and not complaining against others else I'm sure Nalin will win again. We have so many issues in our area Drug Mafia, Unemployment and no Politicians is fighting for it. I have not seen Congress fighting for jobs for our youths, fighting against Drug Mafia. Pls Pls get up there are many youths who are jobless could not find jobs, moving to BLR etc. There are many drug Addicts and dug mafia is one of reason in Bantwal. This many will not accept. All these RSS, SDPI etc are in drugs business and when they sell in other territories then there will be a fight. Then it will be called Communal etc. Basically Hindus, Muslims, Christians are united in DK but all these issues are kept live by Politicians.

Pls note i had also mentioned that SDPI is also involved in drug mafia. Anyhow many might not agree for it. Here the question is not agreeing who is doing what. I would like to have leaders who do good to the community which is lacking. It is not by saying i'm secular or BJP is Hindu savious etc etc. It is fighting for our rights in getting jobs in big companies like MRPL etc etc. See the situation of Mangalore Central and Mangalore Junction which is under Southern Railways. Majority are Malayalees and Tamilians who are working. I have not seen any politican fighting for this, Pls note when SWR Zone was formed Mangalore was to be a part of SWR. What action was taken by our so called Congress, BJP politicans etc. It is now under SR. I have not seen any politician particularly from the Congress figthing when BLR -- MLR train were to be started from Mangalore Junction instead of Mangalore Central. Sadanand Gowda when he was the Railway Ministry he did you changes and we can find some small percentage of Kannadigas now. I totally agree that Khader, Rai have made big money, doing business in many countries etc which i do not want to go in detail. Rai is of no use to Bantwal constituiency. In that way Khader is atleast reachable and some work can be done. We need Politicans like Halady Srinivas Shetty. Pls go and see his house, u cannot believe that an MLA is so simple. Anyhow GOD save my favourite place i.e Undivided Coastal Karnataka

Holidaying with Govt money and our money - Tax Payers money. This is publicity stunt and vote bank strategy. I am sure he will win next elections too.! this is all to prepare himself as a sure candidate for upcoming elections.
Cut short his trip by 02 days, not a big thing. Situation in DK is not so bad as it is being projected. These kind of issues ( or even worse ) have happened in past during BJP in power as well.

By the way, Ministers, Govt Officials, MPs & others travel abroad to learn things, when in India it is the best to learn anything. Going abroad while in power is a fashion as their Big Boss in Delhi has traveled 66 countries in 03 years. At whose cost are these trips. Now after all these trips at Govt cost, Air India will be privatized, so next Govt in power will have not much chance to travel free by it's National Carrier. !!

DW readers may like or may not like Nalin Kumar Kateel for obvious reasons. He is better than any other BJP leaders like Yogish Bhat etc., Who pretend more to believe that they are in BJP but when time comes just find escape route.Kslladka protest Nalin was in the fore front as always.This is not tolerable to chor party people.
More importantly there is nobody in Mangalore presently to take on Nalin to contest and win.I may not be a fan of him but do much criticism about him definitely made me to think about his guts and formidable influence by him on voters.No man is compleye.Dont expect everybody as Ullal Srinivas Mallya....

Is he coming back to rescue Bhatta?? His speeches are derogatory and still available on youtube. First of all they should take one translator for Russian to English, secondly again they need translator from English to Tulu or Kannada
so also different states language translator required from Russian to their language
Like Mrs. Mahajan needs a Marathi translator.......
