Mangaluru, Jun 25: It was indeed a joyous moment for the family of Mohammed to have received a phone call from Mangaluru informing them that their loved one who was missing since 8 months, was hale and hearty under the loving care of the NGO White Doves.

Mohammed Munithal, aged 24 years, who hails from Madhupur in Deogarh district of Jharkhand state of North India had a psychiatric problem from the past 2 years and suddenly left home leaving behind his wife Rabeen Kathun and 2 children named Kushi (3) and Saheeb (1) and an aged father Mohammed Ismail.

He called up home from Kolkata but again went missing from there. He does not remember how he landed up in Mangalore.

Mohammed was found at Bendur Church, Mangaluru by Corrine and was taken to the White Doves Home and looked after. He was treated for his psychiatric condition and was stabilized.

All this time, his family was searching for him with the help of the police in Kolkata, Assam, Mumbai, and Ranchi.
One day after a lot of coaxing he gave a phone number of a contact at his home town. White Doves immediately called up that number and was able to get in touch with Mohammed’s family. They were so overjoyed to have found Mohammed and that too in the Holy month of Ramadan. His father came down to Mangaluru on Saturday, June 24 and the family was united.

It sure is a blessing for the whole family that Mohammed was found alive and was looked after all this while, and it being the end of the month of fasting and prayer for Muslims, to find Mohammed is added joy.

Two more destitute were picked up from the Mangaluru Central railway station on June 20. One is named Manohar aged around 41 years, from Umayaneloor in Kollam district of Kerala was found seated inside an ATM. His Father’s name is Ramesh. Sunil, the other person picked up, hails from Surathkal and his wife’s name is Kalavathi. People are requested to contact White Doves in case they have any details of these people.

White Doves is an NGO involved in picking up destitute from the streets and has over the years provided shelter and care to 480 people. More than 80 of such people have been repatriated back to their families.
