Puttur: Youth and girl from different religions assaulted by gang

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Jun 12: In an incident which happened at Golithadi downtown in Ramkunja village, Kadaba, on the night of Saturday June 10, a youth and a girl, who belong to different religions, were attacked by locals. The duo which came under the attack were Balaraj (48) from Aittoor village and a lady from Somwarpet in Kodagu district.

Balaraj works as a rubber tapper at Kudulur in Koila village near Kadaba. On Saturday, when he was proceeding in his motor bike from Uppinangady to Kudulur, a lady was found seated on the pillion. His motor bike developed engine problems when the two reached Golithadi. As such, the lady got down from the motor bike and stood by the roadside. The locals who saw them posed questions to them.

The two, who were then assaulted by some locals people, claimed that the gang attacked them although they provided actual information about them. The lady said that she was coming to the house of Iqbal from Kudulur. She said when she reached Uppinangady, it was evening. Iqbal could not pick her up as it was prayer time. Iqbal therefore sent the lady to his home in the company of his friend, Balaraj, form Uppinangady, the lady explained.

A case relating to the incident was filed in Kadaba police station.

    Something fishy behind the incident,

If inquiry properly without communal mind true will come out.

This case is, Love , Bussiness , relatives ,

If love is not acceptable because his age is 48,

If business sure inquiry properly, u can get about other missing girls (cynide mohan)

If relatives no one send to pick with out nearest relative person.

@masif kinnigoly, fishy is everything in our country momentan .People dare to control someone travelling and assault too which is none of their business.why put nose in others affairs.why not travel with others bike ,?Best is in future, noone should give explanation when someone asks anything about relationship.Too much moral policing and taking law in owns hands.horrible.better mind own business.Help if you can but not assault someone .let the police take over asking.Or her husband might do the asking. It shows it is more horrible than in Afghanistan. They should be punished by police for taking law in their hands.

Assault by youths is condemnable. If Balaraj and a lady have done any mistake then people could lodge a complaint against them. And the duo( the rider and pillion) must know that in this society tavel by people of different religion is caught swiftly than any other case..If it was a help then, we should respect the men aged 48.

Dear Albert alias Chanakya....good scheme to make the minority fight each other...but it won't help. Instead spreading hatred, gossip and lies only will cause curses and violence in your own community...see the Talibanis or Al qaeda or ISIS and learn from their mistakes. Yo can fool some people(fanatics) most of the time, but u cant fool all the people all the time.

All are waiting for an opportunity to take grudge.
Frankly speaking, moral police from all sects who normally do their acts immorally all the time are least bothered about the couple and their religion, their agenda is different. They neither have education nor have money to take care of their family.

The authorities of this country have given too much freedom for extreme right wing supporters which has emboldened them to barge in anyone's privacy and cause havoc and escape without getting punished...We point fingers at underdeveloped countries but look where we are heading...

We don't know the fact. How ever, wondering why these activists attack such people just because they are together. It's accepted. Unless there is some background on this. I appreciate these activists ( I know why they do such attacks in few instances ) bring it to the notice of police and let them take the action. You yourself taking law in hand will get you bad name. this should be taken care by the leaders. Don't allow any activists to take law in hand. If any such instances, where you see some guys getting in to such cross communal activities.... take it to police and let them take the legal action. that will also expose such activities and folks in to such activities.

Mr. Shetty & Mr. Nawaz - to add on , first of all why one should have a problem if 2 or 3 people of different religions come together for a business, drive, picnic, program or a simple friendly drop as mentioned in the above news? why why why ? Actually what happens if they come together? How does it harm a third party? I didn't understand this in my whole childhood & now that I am adult still I don't understand!
Does any religion in this world says not to meet / mingle with the people from other religions???? If it says so, then one must stop practicing that religion.

Noel, the problem is only in India. And who started this? Just like the Army is arranging Kashmiri youth to travel throughout India to make them understand how we have progressed and to bring them to mainstream. Just we need to educate people how live and let live. You can take the example of the country we live and earn. Here no one cares who is going with whom and to which religion he or she belongs to. To make all Indians happy and secure we need a visionary leaders like here in the UAE not the communal minded divisive politicians of India

all peaceful community people totally condemn this attack or act. No question about vice versa gender. Taking law in their hand whoever are they must b punished. We are not like a "bhakths" to blindly support whatever baseless action, dicision, taking law their by their beloved pariwar or party leader.

Jamal Saab... thank you very much for your kind gesture for wishing me during ramadan period. We too pray with GOD to shower you with more wealth, health & wisdom in this holy month and wish you & your family "Eid Mubarak" well in advance too. For your kind info....we are living in one such beautiful and most safest country in the world...just because we follow all the rules & regulations meant for non-muslims.... And as said by this country ruler that....we have full freedom as long as we don't disturb others and not enter others compound... Whereas in India....majority community always invaded by others yet we are not allowed to retaliate. That's the tragedy of our India!!!!!
