    Congrats Renana !

Lucky are those who liberated themselves from the clutches of male domination and fanatic surroundings. Just look at her - do women of her community in India appear like her ? As confident and decently dressed as her ? Impossible !

Time to break yourself free ladies ! But, sadly we are centuries away - still fighting for removal of TT !

I am a woman. I believe in God. I believe God created me. I believe God created all of us. I believe God created all of us without clothes. Then why are we so ashamed of our bodies and that of others?

I also believe “Coercing a woman out of a burka is as bad as coercing her into one. It's not about the burka. It's about the coercion.”

    God bless you

Lower your gaze gentleman, don't peep into deep necked shirts or short skirts. The world will be a happier place with women dressing completely at their will than you ordering the what/how to dress.

I have worked in a Catholic Institution in Mangalore for about 5 years. The nuns who were working with me there were amazimg. I used to admire and respect all of them for their dedication in serving the poor, their simplicity and especially for the way they dressed. They were so well dressed and simple.

    Ahmed,

Nuns in India (especially in Mangalore) have option to wear two types of clothing. (1)Their uniform that starts at shoulder and reaches upto about 8" above their ankles ( long sleeves) or (2) a saree. They cover their scalp (only, not upto revealing only eyes).

If you are comparing the above dress-code with that you compel on your womenfolk, you will not succeed in fooling me.

You are obsessed with the idea of liberating Muslim women in India. The media has to be blamed for giving you people a wrong picture of muslim women in India. I have lived in different parts of our country for more than 3 decades, mostly among muslims. According to my own experience, in most of the muslim families women are having a dominant position, they are well respected and are the decision makers of the family. They are not different from women from other communities in India. I believe the socio - economic class and education level determine the condition of women in general, not their religion. Women who have an alcoholic or drug addict husband suffer much more irrespective of their religion than women whose husband does not drink. It is more important to educate all the women, improve their financial condition and treat alcohol and drug addiction in the society. Don't try to blame only a particular community.

Most women wear burkha by their own choice. In my family some wear it and some do not . No one forces them. Infact my wife wears a burkha even though I don't like it. It is her choice. My sisters dont wear.
